24 August 2008 - 20:09A Bit of Down Time

Wow. So it was June since my last serious post.

Well, quite a bit has changed since my last post updating everyone on what was going on. Most people whom read this blog (if anyone) already know what’s going on anyway…

So, where to start?

  • Amber and I (and the kids) are back together as a family unit. It took around three weeks for us to get back to the point where we would be able to be together again. Even with the ups and downs of normal life, it has been nothing more than a pleasure and a gift to be with my family again.
  • So, with that last bullet point in mind… Amber and I are getting married again! (3rd time’s a charm, right?) This will hopefully be the marriage that Amber had always dreamed of. One of white dresses, family, and a dedication of our love.
  • Oh… Followed by a honeymoon to the uh… well… I’ll let Amber tell everyone about where it will be. Just think a nice long first class plane trip on an airline that provides the best first class in the world. (Air India? hehe)
  • We’ve finally moved to the house that was supposed to be ready in March. It’s brand new. Even with it’s poor workmanship, it’s about 100 times better than where we used to live. It’s in town, close to town center, and a block away from the bus station. The only down side is the brats that live in the same housing complex as we do. (Can we say vandalism and parental irresponsibility?)
  • The kids have been enrolled in preschool now. Personally, I think they are still a bit young for it. But, they seem to be doing quite well and it gives Amber some time in the day to have some time for chores or for herself.
  • I quit my job at a local supermarket for another job… But the guy whom offered me the new job bailed on me and never called back or returned my calls. This wonderful action has caused yet another period of unemployment for me. Going on two months now without a bite from anyone after many resumes (CVs) have been sent out.
  • Good news from the unemployment is that I’ve been enrolled in a 13 week program that will hopefully have a job at the end of it. The first week was spent ‘teaching’ us (there was a group of 6 of us) the basics of job searching and what employers want. Not too sure that the ‘training’ side of it was of any worth, but if a job close to home comes from it, it’s well worth every minute. This week is the process of looking for a placement for the next 11 - 12 weeks… Pray that something good comes of this!
  • There’s one other note from the unemployed side of life. I’ve been volunteering at the local Fishermen’s Mission in town. It’s been one of the best work experiences that I’ve had to date. I’ve been helping sort out their computers, while at the same time taking some of the administrative pressure from the superintendent freeing him up for more important things. This has really made me realize that given the right situation, I love working on computers still.

So, that’s been my life for the past two months in a nut shell. I hope to be able to update this blog more often in the future… But, life seems to be getting more and more busy.

Here’s a picture for the road… :)
A quick snuggle after bath time!

2 June 2008 - 12:58So, yeah…

There has been quite a lot going on in my household recently. I can’t go in to details, but the end result is that Amber and I are having to live apart from each other for a short time. I don’t believe in separation, but this is not only not an optional separation, but it may actually be for the better. The end result is certainly clear. Getting our family back together and in a more healthy shape than it has probably ever been in. There will be rough times, but we will fight on for each other and the kids no matter what.

I guess not only do I want to update people with what we’ve been going through lately, but also to acknowledge my love and adoration for the most beautiful woman alive. She has been more than a Godsend to me during our 10 years of being together (of which 7 have been being married to her). The Lord has allowed me to hold such a precious and wonderful person, whom I know I don’t deserve in the least. She has always been supportive even during this rocky patch in our lives. As I said in one of my twits, Amber is the most precious and important person in my life. I want to grow old with her, share hopes and dreams, and live life out to the extent in which God has asked of us. Words cannot describe how I love and feel for her, so I will leave it at this.

Please pray for a speedy restitution of our family. God only knows that not only do Amber and I need it, but our kids do as well.

So, expect another reign of silence from this setting. I’ll be leaving my computer with Amber for the duration of our separation. If you are going to be needing to get in touch with me, then you can contact Amber via the usual routes, or me via my cell phone. I may get the chance to check email or whatever, but I don’t expect that will be very often at all.

So… Goodbye for now…
